Guest Interview Application Status – Reviewing

Thank you for applying to be a guest.

We will review the information you submitted and get back to you soon with next step details, usually within 4 business days.

With a published book that speaks to the challenges and aspirations of our small business leader audience (tech and professional services especially, not retail, real estate, or restaurants), scores of positive Amazon reviews, and an email list above the threshold, you will have a good shot of having a great interview on My Quest for the Best.

In the meantime, please be sure to take these next steps so that your application gets the benefit of a complete submission:

  1. Upload a PDF of your book. Use this page, not email.

We will use it to prepare for and market the interview. Bill Ringle reads the book and does about 4-5 hours of other research – including reading your articles and listening to other interviews – before each interview, which is why we want to make sure that there is a good fit with your book and our audience. If you need special arrangements or assistance to send your book, please use the Contact Us page.

*** Without a PDF of your book to review, your application status is STOPPED in its tracks. We will follow-up and contact you, but you will have lost time and made an impression of being unprepared.
  2. Leave a review on iTunes. Visit My Quest for the Best on iTunes

If you want to appear on a top podcast with a large and active subscriber base, listen to an episode or two and then leave a thoughtful comment about what struck you as interesting, insightful, or useful.

One prolific guest who really understands podcasts and PR has been on multiple times had members of her team listen to episodes and leave iTunes ratings and reviews. Anne did this all on her own, and yes, it made a very positive impression on us. It is true for every podcast host, as well – we all read the reviews and get interested in those who share reviews about what was interesting and meaningful.

*** Visit this page for additional details: How to Review My Quest for the Best on iTunes.
  3. Be Responsive.
We may follow-up and ask for a better quality headshot or another interview link or a question about another one of your books. When we do so, we will do our best to explain the reason for the request, which is usually something along the lines of, “we think it will help us make the interview better.”

Be ready to respond so we can keep the momentum going. In the meantime, connect with Bill Ringle on LinkedIn as another way of staying visible on our radar during this process.

*** When you’re arranging an interview with us or any media, always keep in mind that the person asking for something is doing so with all of our best interests in mind. We call it “keeping our API plugged in” which you may know it by the traditional term of assuming positive intent.
